A stone kitchen countertop is perfection

Although stone is more expensive, in the long run it provides better value and durability, and enjoyment in use.

  • Durability: Stone (e.g., granite or quartz) is far more resistant to scratches, impacts and wear.
  • Moisture resistance: Stone does not swell or deform under exposure to water, which is often a problem with chipboard.
  • Heat resistance: Stone slabs withstand high temperatures without damage.
  • Aesthetics: With proper maintenance, stone slabs last, while chipboard wears out over time.
  • Hygiene: Stone surfaces are less porous, meaning they are more resistant to staining and bacteria; with appropriate sealants porosity is minimized.
Kitchen countertop

The most common materials for kitchen and other countertops are Granite, Quartz and Dekton.

Granite

Granite has several advantages over quartz:

  • Natural material: Granite is 100% natural, giving it unique patterns and aesthetics. Each slab is unique.
  • Heat resistance: Granite tolerates high temperatures and direct contact with hot cookware better than quartz.
  • Lower cost: In some cases, granite can be more affordable than quartz, depending on type and availability.
  • UV resistance: Granite does not change color in sunlight, making it ideal for outdoor spaces or bright kitchens.

Quartz

Quartz is a man-made material

  • Design variety: Since it is manufactured, it comes in a wide range of colors, patterns and finishes.
  • Uniformity: Unlike natural materials, quartz has a consistent pattern, desirable for modern kitchens.
  • Lower porosity: Quartz is less porous than granite. With proper maintenance it does not absorb stains and is easy to clean.
  • Durability: It is extremely durable and resistant to impacts, scratches and wear.

Dekton - Porcelain

Dekton or Porcelain is a modern engineered material designed to eliminate the shortcomings of quartz and granite

  • Exceptional heat resistance: Dekton withstands high temperatures without damage, so you can place hot pots directly on the surface.
  • Non-porous: Dekton does not absorb liquids, making it resistant to stains from wine, coffee or oil.
  • UV resistance: It does not change color in sunlight, so it is ideal for outdoor kitchens or bright spaces.
  • Durability: It is resistant to chemicals, acids and impacts, making it extremely long-lasting.
  • Aesthetic flexibility: Available in various colors and patterns, including stone imitation.
